What Proverbs 3:5-6 means
Leaning is what you do when you're tired — you put your weight on something. Solomon isn't saying your understanding is worthless, he's saying it's too small to hold you up. And acknowledge him in all thy ways takes in the ordinary decisions, not just the ones that feel big.

4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
