These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.John 16:33 · King James Version
What John 16:33 means
Jesus said this within hours of the arrest, to men who were about to scatter on him. He doesn't soften the first half: in the world ye shall have tribulation. The good cheer isn't because the trouble isn't coming. It's because he has already overcome the world it's coming from.
