Psalms · chapter 23 · verse 1
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.Psalm 23:1 · King James Version
What Psalm 23:1 means
David kept sheep before he was king, so he knew what he was claiming. A shepherd means the sheep doesn't have to find its own food, water, or way home. I shall not want isn't a promise of everything you'd like. It's the settled sense that nothing you actually need is missing.
