What Psalm 34:8 means

Taste is an experiment, not a conclusion. David wrote this after escaping a foreign king by pretending to be insane, so he isn't speaking from comfort. He doesn't ask you to agree that the LORD is good. He asks you to try him and find out, and the blessing lands on the man that trusteth in him.

Commentary

The title of this psalm tells us both who penned it and upon what occasion it was penned. David, being forced to flee from his country, which was made too hot for him by the rage of Saul, sought shelter as near it as he could, in the land of the Philistines.
